| | Dear ECSD Families, Can you believe it? By the end of this week, we’ll officially wrap up the third quarter of the 2024-25 school year! Along with the excitement of Spring Break, this time of year also brings a wave of competitions and recognitions at the district, league, county, and state levels. Even if your child isn’t participating yet, I encourage you to support their classmates and school. Attending these events can spark new interests, highlight the power of teamwork, and strengthen our sense of community. Plus, showing up to cheer on peers helps build school spirit—something that benefits all of us! Speaking of staying engaged, I want to share a couple of important updates. For the first time, all students will need to be registered for the upcoming school year. You’ll find details about this process below. We’re also awaiting final state approval on our 2025-26 school year calendar, which includes a big change: The first day of school is set for Monday, August 18, a week earlier than usual. Planning ahead will help ensure a smooth transition for everyone. As we move into the final quarter of the school year, I hope you and your family take this time to relax and recharge. We’ll see you back in class on Monday, April 7! Enjoy your break! -CJ Anderson, Superintendent | | | ECSD Announces New Annual Registration Process Elko County School District (ECSD) is introducing a new annual registration process for all students, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. This change ensures accurate student information, updates essential records, and complies with state and district policies.
In previous years, students were automatically re-enrolled unless parents or guardians took action to unenroll their children. The new process requires families to complete yearly registration using the district’s secure online Parent Portal in Infinite Campus beginning no sooner than April 14. Schools will communicate this change with parents and guardians in the upcoming weeks and throughout the remainder of the spring semester.
To complete the annual registration, parents must have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Parents and guardians without an account must contact their child’s school.
In-Person Registration Assistance To support families who need help with online registration, ECSD will host in-person registration assistance sessions on Thursday, April 17, and Friday, April 18, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the district offices located at 850 Elm Street, Elko.
These sessions have traditionally been offered for incoming pre-k and kindergarten students, but this year, all parents who need help registering their child are welcome and encouraged to attend.
For new student registration, parents and guardians should bring the following documents:
- Child’s original birth certificate
- Immunization records
- Proof of residency
Students registering for kindergarten must be five (5) years of age on or before August 1, 2025, and students registering for Pre-k must be four (4) years of age on or before August 1, 2025.
Additionally, ECSD will participate in the Head Start of Northeastern Nevada Kindergarten Summit on April 12, from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the Elko Igloo and will have staff on-site to answer any questions.
For more information, please visit the ECSD Student Registration Information webpage: https://www.ecsdnv.net/page/registration or contact your child’s school. | | 2025-26 School Year Calendar Update | | | Looking for Extra Support After Parent-Teacher Conferences? Now that parent-teacher conferences have wrapped up, you might be wondering: How can I help my child succeed?
