Plan Your Commute to School Accordingly
We want to inform you about upcoming changes at the new roundabout on Lamoille Highway and Boyd Kennedy Road in Spring Creek.
Starting tomorrow and ending on the 20th, the contractor will test traffic control by closing the outer lanes, leaving the inner two lanes and a center turn lane open. The speed limit will be reduced to 35 MPH.
Construction is set to begin on March 31st. Please plan your commute accordingly. We plan to monitor the situation and understand this could cause delays while everyone adjusts. Let's get to school safe and sound!
Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

6th and 7th graders had the opportunity to see what classes are available for electives next year. They completed an online form selecting their 1st and 2nd choices during their advisory class. This form will be available until March 20th, if you would like to discuss these options with your child and make edits. Links should be posted in their 1st period Google Classroom.

Remember...

The 2025-26 school year calendar for Elko County School District students and teaching staff has been finalized with several significant changes.
The new calendar features an earlier start date of Monday, August 18, 2025, and an earlier end date of Friday, May 29, 2026, with the first semester concluding before Winter Break on December 18, 2025. The update was made possible after the school board changed its policy to allow more flexibility with start dates instead of adhering to the traditional first Monday before Labor Day. Unlike the last two years, during the four-day school week, students will no longer have to attend school on Friday following a Monday holiday. Another notable change is that students return from Winter Break on Tuesday, January 6, 2026; Monday, January 5, 2026, is a teacher workday.

Students' First Day: August 18, 2025
Thanksgiving Break: November 27, 2025 (Early Dismissal on November 26, 2025)

Last Day of School: May 29, 2026
Contingency Days: June 1-3, 2026

Travis Gerber, Cami Gerber, and Judge Simons presented to our 8th graders today. They shared their knowledge of the American Revolution, Paul Revere, and Betsy Ross. The 8th graders were a great audience and we are so glad the presenters took time out of their busy schedules to share!
