Our 8th grade class is working with the DAV's Field of Flags Project again this year.
DAV’s Field of Flags empowers our community to setup up fields of American flags, all to honor local veterans and raise critical funds to support our ill and injured heroes.
Each flag represents one veteran – and our unwavering commitment to serving all veterans after they’ve sacrificed so much for our country.
All donations raise critical funds to support DAV’s life-changing services for veterans in need and their families.

Hello Parents and Guardians,
SCMS will be starting a Grief Support Group for students who may be coping with the loss of a loved one. The group will begin on October 23, 2025, and will meet once a month during 7th period in the counseling office. If we notice a greater need, we may meet every two weeks instead.
The group will be co-facilitated by Billie Jean Crawford from Horizon Hospice along with one of our support staff members — School Counselors Mrs. Plank or Dr. Price, or School Social Worker Ms. Knutson.
We’ll be sharing information about the group with students during their advisory period on Monday, October 13th. This group is completely voluntary and students will be able to sign up on a Google Form. Parent signature will be required to participate. https://forms.gle/3kU35rrUn3feDXvBA
If you feel this group would be helpful for your student, or if you have any questions, please reach out to one of our counselors or our social worker by calling the school at (775) 777-1688.

Plan Your Commute to School Accordingly
We want to inform you about upcoming changes at the new roundabout on Lamoille Highway and Boyd Kennedy Road in Spring Creek.
Starting tomorrow and ending on the 20th, the contractor will test traffic control by closing the outer lanes, leaving the inner two lanes and a center turn lane open. The speed limit will be reduced to 35 MPH.
Construction is set to begin on March 31st. Please plan your commute accordingly. We plan to monitor the situation and understand this could cause delays while everyone adjusts. Let's get to school safe and sound!
Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
6th and 7th graders had the opportunity to see what classes are available for electives next year. They completed an online form selecting their 1st and 2nd choices during their advisory class.
